Internationally collected, Nancy Swan is a fifth generation Californian who has been painting the world around her since childhood. Having grown up during the rapid transformation of
California
, she has sought to capture many of the scenes in watercolor, etchings and ink that are fast becoming memories . These early scenes of the rapidly changing area have become a favorite of collectors everywhere.

Accomplished in many mediums she has been documenting this area in copperplate etchings and watercolors for the past 40 years. During much of this time,
Nancy
has also been immersed in the age of digital art and is a computer graphic designer and illustrator of a children's book, now working on illustrations for a second. During the last five years she has traveled many times to the shores of Lake Superior on the upper peninsula of
Michigan
to study with the reknown Watercolorist Nita Engle.
Nancy
was born and raised in Southern California, attended Orange Coast College,
University
of
California Irvine
and graduated from U.C.L.A.
She is an associate member of the National Watercolor Society and the American Watercolor Society.
She and her husband Peer have raised two children and reside in
Newport Coast
California
